SAN DIEGO — Emergency crews came to the rescue Tuesday of two men who were stuck on a rocky bluff in the Sunset Cliffs area.
The emergency just south of Point Loma Nazarene University was reported shortly before 3 p.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
Lifeguards rappelled down to the victims and hauled them to safety at the top of the precipice, a process that took about 45 minutes, SDFRD spokesman Maurice Luque said.
Medics airlifted the man to Scripps Mercy Hospital for treatment of a possibly broken arm and treated the other man at the scene for minor injuries.
