Non-stop flights to Kauai take off

alaskaairlinesSAN DIEGO — Alaska Airlines is scheduled to kick off nonstop service Friday between San Diego and Lihue, Hawaii, on the island of Kauai.

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority has planned a ribbon-cutting at Lindbergh Field with a traditional Hawaiian blessing ceremony and a reception.

Kauai will be the third island served by Alaska Airlines from San Diego,
joining Maui and Oahu.

The Boeing 737-800 is scheduled to depart San Diego at 9:55 a.m. and arrive on the “Garden Island” at 12:35 p.m. Hawaiian time.

The return run leaves Lihue at 11 a.m. Hawaiian time and arrives at Lindbergh Field at 7:20 p.m.
