Maid at Mission Valley hotel robbed

crime sceneSAN DIEGO — A thief pulled a knife on a maid at a Mission Valley hotel Thursday and robbed her, authorities reported.

The bandit, a roughly 5-foot-5-inch man who appeared to be in his mid- 20s, confronted the 44-year-old victim as she was cleaning a room at the lodge in the 400 block of Hotel Circle South shortly after 11 a.m., according to San Diego police.

After stealing jewelry from the victim and a bag of some sort from the room, the robber walked out, got into a red Nissan Xterra occupied by two other men and drove off, SDPD Officer Frank Cali said.

The trio fled in an unknown direction.
