NASHVILLE, TN — If there’s one thing we all know about Darius Rucker-the man can sing. But, he’s also got a heart of gold. Darius played for a sold out crowd of hundreds of fans at Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville June 3rd to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Darius kicked off his annual “Darius and Friends” event with his hit “True Believer” followed by his catchy tune, “Alright.”
“Thank you for coming,” Darius told the crowd. “It sold out before we even announced the lineup.”
Local news crews and photographers gathered to video the all star line up which included entertainers like Justin Moore, Dustin Lynch, Randy Houser, John Cowan, Sam Bush, Joel Crouse, Rodney Foster and ACM entertainer of the year, Luke Bryan. “It’s good to do this,” said Luke. “One of our freelance cameramen woke up today and got the news that he had stage four pancreatic cancer.”
Dustin got the crowd on their feet with his rendition of a David Lee Murphy song while Randy Houser belted out his top hits.
“Ya’ll get your checkbooks out,” said Randy to a crowd of hundreds. The charity concert was combined with a silent auction and a golf tournament hosted by Darius.
Great American Country was the media sponsor for the event while Visionworks and Transitions Adapative Lenses served as the other two sponsors.
