Unattended bag causes bomb scare at school

NATIONAL CITY , Calif. — Dozens of people were evacuated from a community college building Monday morning after a suspicious bag was left at the front entrance, police said.

Member of Sheriff's Bomb SquadPolice and sheriff’s deputies closed off National City Boulevard between West 8th and Plaza Boulevard after what looked like a black laptop computer bag was found outside a satellite campus of Southwestern College at around 9 a.m. Between 50 and 60 people were evacuated from the building.

A sheriff’s bomb squad arrived at about 9:40 a.m. Squad ,embers used an X-ray device to scan the interior of the sack, determining that it contained books and a bottle of perfume.

Authorities reopened National City Boulevard and let people back into the building at about 10:15 a.m.

    Why is it suspicious when it is a laptop bag at a college??

    It seems you can say anything is suspicious if you wanted to.
