Man fatally stabbed in Skyline ID’d

Police-Cars-NightSAN DIEGO — Medical examiners publicly identified the 36-year-old man killed in a stabbing in the Skyline neighborhood that left another man wounded.

Charles Douglas Berry died about 11:55 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of Coolwater Drive, near Greenlawn Drive, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Officers were called to the area about 15 minutes earlier and found him along with a 45-year-old who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, San Diego police said.

The wounded man, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital, police said.

A 32-year-old man was detained a short distance away and was questioned Saturday as a ‚Äúperson of interest” in the case, police said. His name was not immediately released, and it was unclear if he had been arrested.
