Car hits Harley after running stop sign

motorcycleSAN DIEGO — A suspected drunken driver ran a stop sign in the Grantville neighborhood and plowed into a motorcyclist, causing him to suffer several broken bones, police said Monday.

The 34-year-old driver of a Dodge Durango blew through the stop sign at the intersection of Santos and Admiral Baker roads shortly after 7:30 p.m. Sunday and collided with a 22-year-old man riding a Harley Davidson, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.

The motorcyclist suffered two broken legs, a broken pelvis and broken vertebrae, Delimitros said.

The suspected drunken driver was arrested, Delimitros said. His name was not immediately released.

    It's Santo Road……__Drunk drivers hurt innocent people. DUI drivers should be shot. Off with their head, not fingers.

    I was stuck for 1.5hrs on Friars road trying to get home to La Mirage… Too many drunks coming in and out of La Mirage…….. Hope the motorcycle rider recovers quickly!
