Driver runs after smashing into parked cars

SAN DIEGO — Police were looking for a driver who climbed out of an overturned Jeep and ran off after crashing into several parked cars early Friday.

Overturned JeepThe crash happened in Ocean Beach on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard near Santa Cruz Avenue at about 1:30 a.m.

Witnesses told police that they came outside after hearing a loud crash and saw several damaged parked cars and a Jeep Cherokee on its side in the middle of the street. The witnesses said a man and a woman crawled out of a window on the driver’s side of the Cherokee and ran off.

Police said the Jeep may have been stolen.
