Gaslamp stabbing suspect sought

SAN DIEGO – A fight in the Gaslamp Quarter early Sunday resulted in one man hospitalized, another jailed and a third sought by the police, a police officer said.

knife-webA 21-year-old man was stabbed in the chest while fighting with the two other men at Fifth Avenue and J Street shortly before 2 a.m. and was hospitalized according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

Officers arrested one of the alleged assailants, Stafford said. His name was not immediately released.

The other suspect ran off, last seen headed south on Fifth Avenue, Stafford said.

Police described him as black, about 5 feet 8 with dreadlocks.
