Police search for man who groped 2 girls

SAN DIEGO — San Diego police Thursday sought a man suspected of groping two teenage girls minutes apart in Otay Mesa.

The man first approached a 13-year-old girl walking in the 1400 block of Piedra Street about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, allegedly grabbed her froPolice-Cars-Nightm behind and groped her, according to San Diego police. The girl screamed and fought off her attacker, who then ran toward Arruza Street and Picador Boulevard, police said.

A short time later, he allegedly grabbed and groped a 17-year-old girl walking in the vicinity of Arruza Street and Del Sur Boulevard but let the teen go when she began to struggle, police said.

The suspect was last seen getting into a older, possibly four-door beige sedan and drove south on Del Sur Boulevard.

Police described the suspect as Hispanic, clean-shaven, 18 to 23 years old and between 5 feet 5 and 5 feet 7, with a normal to thin build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and glasses.

The San Diego Police Department’s Child Abuse Unit was called to investigate both cases, police said.
