Lakeside woman, 74, hospitalized after house fire

LAKESIDE, Calif. — A Lakeside woman was arrested in connection with an arson fire at her own home, a sergeant said Wednesday.

Deputies responded Tuesday, at 4:26 p.m., to a fully engulfed fire in a home at 13200 block of Lakeview Granada, said Sgt. Curt Goldberg of the San Diego County sheriff’s Santee Station.

The dispatcher told deputies the fire had been deliberately set, Goldberg said.

When they arrived, deputies contacted a 74-year-old woman and her adult daughter, who lived in the home, he said.

The 74-year-old woman told deputies her daughter intentionally set the fire, Goldberg said. Deputies detained the daughter while the investigation was underway.

The mother and daughter were transported to hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, he said.
