5 die, 20 more injured in Oregon bus crash

Five people died in a bus crash Sunday morning east of Pendleton, according to Oregon State Police, and ambulances took approximately 20 people to St. Anthony Hospital, Pendleton.

A tour bus at about 10:30 a.m. lost control on snow and ice on the westbound lanes of Interstate 84 near milepost 227 near Deadman Pass, a few miles from the top of Cabbage Hill. The bus crashed through a guardrail and plunged down a cliff. State police reported about 40 people were on the bus, but the agency did not identify the bus company or say where the group was traveling from or to.
