Family gathering on Christmas turns violent

sdpdSAN DIEGO – A family gathering on Christmas Day in North Park ended up with a mother and son being arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, San Diego police said.

During the gathering, a 48-year-old man was stabbed in the chest with a knife and cut on the head with a coffee pot. A 59-year-old man was cut in the armpit. Both men were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

A 44-year-old woman and her 20-year-old son were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and booked into county jail. The woman had jumped from a second-story window in an effort to avoid arrest.
