CORONADO, Calif. — Four Navy aviators were hospitalized Thursday after a helicopter made a hard landing at North Island Naval Air Station, authorities said.

The MH-60R Seahawk was taking part in routine training when it made a hard landing about 11 p.m. Wednesday, injuring four crew members on board, according to a Navy statement. The aircraft and crew were assigned to HSM-75, the Navy said.

Two of the crew members were taken to UC San Diego Medical Center and the other two, to Scripps Mercy Hospital. No details of their injuries were immediately released, and the Navy did not immediately say what caused the hard landing.
