The Xolos defeated Toluca 2-0 during the second night of action during the 2012 Liga MX Apertura title matchup.

Toluca entered Sunday night’s game down 2-1 on aggregate after losing to Xolos on Thursday.

Club Tijuana was promoted to the first division only 18 months ago. A couple of years ago, the Tijuana Xolos were just another anonymous team languishing in the second tier of Mexican soccer.

The young upstarts won the prestigious 18-team Torneo Apertura and became the best team in the country.
