Gunman gets away with shopping cart of liquor

robberySAN DIEGO — Police were on the lookout Friday for a man who flashed a gun at a Sorrento Valley liquor store clerk and got away with a basket of bottles.

The robber loaded a basket with assorted liquors at the BevMo store on Mira Mesa Boulevard at Camino Santa Fe about 9 p.m. Thursday, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.

A clerk confronted him as he tried to leave the store, but he pulled a handgun and ran off, Delimitros said.

Police described the suspect as a short white man in his 20s with a medium build and acne. He was wearing a black shirt and black pants.
