Man accused of breaking into school

SAN DIEGO — A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglarizing a school in Otay Mesa early Tuesday, police said.

The man was arrested as he was fleeing Silver Wing Elementary School at 3730 Arey Drive about 1:30 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford, who did not say how the suspect had been traveling.

Officers went to the school after a burglary alarm was sounded. Once there, officers found someone had broken a classroom window and entered the room for purpose of burglary, Stafford said in a statement.

No other details were immediately released.
