Since arriving to San Diego in 2008, Heather Lake’s covered some of the city’s largest events including Comic-Con and opening day at the Del Mar Races. Heather’s high energy and zest for life gives San Diego a reason to smile as they start their day.
Before heading to the west coast, Heather was an anchor, reporter and bureau chief at WCTI in Jacksonville, NC working closely with the military community at Camp Lejeune. Many of her most memorable assignments include working alongside the Hope for Warriors foundation as they granted “warrior wishes” to many of our service men and women.
Heather started her career in journalism in Orlando, FL at WESH where she was a news writer and producer where she covered nearly a dozen hurricanes and tropical storms.
Raised in Orlando, Heather spent most of her teen years as a cast member at one of the many amusement parks. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science.
If you don’t catch Heather up and early on the morning show, you may see her swimming, running or biking. She is an active member of the Triathlon Club of San Diego, US Crossfit in Encinitas, and spends most of her time training for Ironman distance triathlons.
