LOS ANGELES -- Firefighters are working to douse a brush fire burning near the observatory on Mt. Wilson in the San Gabriel Mountains early Tuesday morning.
The fire was reported about 4:30 a.m. and was visible from the 210 Freeway in Pasadena, KTLA reported.
As of 9 a.m., the blaze had burned about 30 acres and was five percent contained, according to a spokesperson from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
More than 200 firefighters and three helicopters were battling the blaze.
No structures have been damaged and no injuries were reported, according to the Fire Department.
No evacuations have been ordered, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated.
There was no immediate word on what caused the fire.
A fire in the same area in 2009 burned 160,000 acres.
