SAN DIEGO — One man was recovering from head wounds Wednesday and another was in custody following a fight that led to gunfire at a bayfront park near SeaWorld.
Dylan Dewey Brower, 47, allegedly was pistol-whipping the other man while trying to rob him inside a recreational vehicle parked at South Shores Park about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when the weapon discharged, grazing the victim’s scalp, according to San Diego police.
The assailant then fled in the RV, leaving the 41-year-old victim behind. Medics took the wounded man to a hospital for treatment of non-life- threatening injuries, Officer John Buttle said.
About an hour later, patrol personnel spotted Brower in the 3800 block of La Jolla Village Drive in University City and arrested him.
The nature of the relationship, if any, between the two men was unclear.
Brower was booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of robbery, burglary, assault with a firearm and negligent discharge of a gun. He was being held on $100,000 bail pending arraignment, scheduled for Friday afternoon.
