High school student injured after being hit by vehicle

SAN DIEGO — A Serra High School student was struck by a car Wednesday while crossing a street near the Tierrasanta-area campus.

The 16-year-old boy was taken to a hospital following the crash in the 5100 block of Santo Road around 7 a.m., but his injuries were not believed to be serious, San Diego police Officer Tony Martinez said.

The driver involved in the accident remained at the scene and was being interviewed by traffic detectives, Martinez said.
