Man with serious stab wounds shows up at hospital

SAN DIEGO — A 25-year-old man with stab wounds who was seen running through an apartment complex near Sunday morning, turned up at a nearby hospital with serious injuries to his chest and back.

Police were called to the apartments in the 5400 block of Adobe Falls Road at about 7:40 a.m., but the victim was gone by the time they arrived, Officer Gary Bowen said.

The victim showed up at Alvarado Hospital a couple of miles away, but was immediately transferred to Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest with a punctured lung and punctured kidney, Bowen said.

He was recovering in the intensive care unit in stable but guarded condition, according to Bowen, who did not release the victim’s name.

A possible crime scene was located by police and detectives have taken over the investigation. The victim had not provided information on the suspect.
