Crews douse house fire in El Cajon

EL CAJON, Calif. -- Crews made quick work of a house fire in El Cajon.

The blaze broke out around 8 a.m. the the 600 block of North Pierce Street.  Smoke and flames could be seen coming from the roof when firefighters arrived, officials said.

Helicopter video showed firefighters dousing the back porch of the home with water hoses. It appeared that the fire did not make it inside the home, but the outside walls and a portion of the roof were scorched..

No one was injured by the fire. An estimate of the fire damage was not immediately available.
