Groper attacks teen walking dog in North County

VISTA, Calif. – A 19-year-old woman was walking her dog along a North County roadside when a man attacked her, detectives said Tuesday.

San Diego County Sheriff’s detectives were investigating a sexual assault in Vista where a man pushed the teenager to the ground and groped her on the 700 block of Grapevine Road Monday around 6:30 p.m.

The victim attempted to fight off the man while her dog, who may have bitten the attacker, started growling and barking, Lt. Dan Brislin said. The man stopped, ran east bound on Planet Road and was chased by the dog for a short distance. The dog returned to his owner.

The attacker was described as  man in his mid-20s of unknown ethnicity, around 5-feet, 6-inches tall and weighed between 160 – 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark colored beanie, dark colored hoodie and unknown colored pants.
