SAN DIEGO - Snowfall brought excitement to many San Diegans Sunday who drove up Mount Laguna to see the first snow of the season.

“We are not experts up here! We don’t know what we are doing, we probably don’t have the right clothes on, but it is beautiful, it’s amazing,” said Lavone Casillas.

From snowball fights to sledding, the snow, even when it’s a little slushy, was still welcomed, especially for first timers.

“It’s a little more chunky than I thought it would be,” said Gabriel Casillas.

The added wind and rain made the snow experience a little harder to tolerate, but not stopping anyone not even the little ones.

“I don’t know how many times I’ve seen the snow, but it was really fun!” said Gabriella Borges.

Some San Diegans told FOX 5, the snow was the perfect start to the holiday season especially after that big turkey dinner on Thursday.

“It totally feels like the holidays. Thanksgiving was the other day and it’s just the season has kicked off,” said Alexandra Chu.

One the biggest regrets people said they had going up to Mount Laguna was not having enough winter gear, but they plan to be more prepared next time.
