19-year-old man rescued from mangled car in Vista

VISTA, Calif. – Sheriff’s deputies found a car wrapped around a light pole in Vista, and the 19-year-old man trapped inside was cut out by firefighters and then hospitalized with serious injuries, deputies said Sunday.

The single-vehicle crash, in the 100 block of East Bobier Drive, was reported at about 9:20 p.m. Saturday, according to Deputy Jennifer Albright.

Firefighters had to free the victim, before paramedics took him to Palomar Medical Center with serious, but not life threatening injuries.

Deputies did not release the victim’s name or how the crash occurred. No one else was injured.
