SAN DIEGO - On one of the busiest travel days of the year, passengers didn't disappoint.
As families reunited at San Diego International Airport, many others navigated through security lines.
Others across southern California's roadways hitting the streets, as more than 5.8 million Californians are projected to travel 50 miles or more this holiday, a 3.1 percent increase over last year, according to AAA Northern California.
Vehicle travel is expected to account for more than 89 percent of all transportation during the Thanksgiving holiday. More than 5 million Californians are expected to drive this Thanksgiving.
AAA reports about 626,000 Californians will fly, an increase of 1.6 percent compared to last year.
There were not many flight cancellations or delays at San Diego International Airport but some flyers have reported airlines had overbooked a number of flights.
