Man killed in Mount Hope shooting

SAN DIEGO – Police Saturday identified the San Diego man who was shot to death in the Mount Hope neighborhood Friday night.

Edward Lewis Jackson, 53, was shoot multiple times in the torso shortly after 8:30 p.m. in the 3900 block of B Street, according to San Diego Police Lt. Ray Valentin.

Officers responding to a 911 call found Jackson non-responsive along the north side of the street and performed life-saving measures until paramedics arrived on scene, Valentin said.

Jackson was taken to a local hospital, where he died about an hour later.
