SAN DIEGO — Two vehicles and a motorcycle collided Wednesday on Interstate 5 near Lindbergh Field, leaving one person with major injuries and the southbound freeway temporarily blocked.

The crash in the southbound lanes near Sassafras Street was reported shortly after 9 a.m. A motorcycle was lying in the far right lane and two other vehicles were spread out across the rest of the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash initially prompted authorities to close the entire southbound freeway and issue a SigAlert, but the two right lanes were later reopened, according to the CHP.
