OCEANSIDE, Calif. — Two men have been charged in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old girl at an Oceanside park last September.

Daniel Ramos and Elias Ramos, 20-year-old Oceanside residents who are not related, face charges of murder, attempted murder and participating in a gang felony in the death of Annabelle Flores at the park in the early morning hours of Sept. 3, according to Oceanside police.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired at Balderrama Park, in the 700 block of San Diego Street at about 2:30 a.m.  on September 3. They found Flores on a playground structure with at least one gunshot wound, police said.

The girl was pronounced dead at the scene despite officers’ attempts to save her life.

It appeared the victim was targeted, police said in September, and that the shooting was not a random act of violence.

The two men are expected be arraigned Wednesday, authorities said.
