SANTEE, Calif. – Investigators released a sketch of a man they say tried to kidnap a young woman in broad daylight near a public park.

The attempted kidnapping happened on Thursday, Oct. 6, at about noon, according the San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies. The 18-year-old woman had parked at Mast Park in the 9100 block of Carlton Hills Boulevard and gone to a coffee shop. As she was walking back at about noon, she noticed a silver sedan following her. A man in the passenger seat began making cat calls and rude comments, so she walked faster. The car sped up and she became afraid and began running, but as she reached her car, the passenger in the silver sedan grabbed her arm.

The woman believed that the man was trying to pull her into the other car. She broke free from his grip, got into her car and locked the doors.

The silver sedan continued into the park parking lot and the woman drove away and reported the incident to deputies.

The man who grabbed her was described a black man between 20 and 30 years old. Anyone with information about the suspect or the attack should contact the Crimestoppers at 888-580-8477.
