SAN DIEGO — Police Wednesday were looking for three robbery suspects who beat up and pistol-whipped a man in North Park.

The robbery was reported at 9:07 p.m. Tuesday in the 3700 block of Mississippi Street, said San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

The three suspects walked up to the victim, assaulted him and stole from the man before taking off in a maroon Jeep Compass, Delimitros said. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, he said.

Police did not immediately disclose what the suspects took from the man.

The first suspect was black, 6 feet 1, with a thin build and dreadlocks. The second suspect was white, 5 feet 10, heavyset and bald. The third suspect was only described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall.
