ESCONDIDO, Calif. — Officials are looking into what caused a fire at a liquor store Sunday, an Escondido Fire Department battalion chief said.

Mike Bertrand said it took firefighters 30 minutes to knock down the blaze at the store at 2030 E. Valley Parkway, which was first reported at 4:25 a.m.

Bertrand said there were no injuries, and no damage estimate was available.

Police originally responded thinking it was a burglary issue, but then saw the smoke and fire, Bertrand said.
