SAN DIEGO – Lifeguards Saturday rescued two people off the coast of La Jolla, an official said.
One person was on a surfboard, the other was on a boogie board and neither was injured, said Lt. Rick Romero of the San Diego Lifeguard Service.
Shortly after 10 a.m., both people were about 200 yards from the shore near Marine Street when they waved for help, Romero said.
One lifeguard swam out to help one distressed surfer, while a second lifeguard used a Jet Ski to rescue the other, Romero added.
Further information on their condition was not available.
