Early voting begins in San Diego

SAN DIEGO – Election Day is still four weeks away, but some San Diegan are already casting their ballots.

Monday was the first day of early voting at the San Diego Registrar of Voters Office. From now until Election Day, registered voters can cast ballots at the office, located at 5600 Overland Ave., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

For voters who prefer to cast their ballot at home, mail-in ballots will be available starting on Oct. 11.

Other important dates for the Presidential General Election include:

  • Monday, Oct. 24: Last day to register to vote for the Nov. 8 election
  • Tuesday, Nov. 1: Last day to request a mail-in ballot
  • Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 5 and 6: Weekend voting at the Registrar's Office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days
  • Tuesday, Nov. 8: Election Day. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
