Brothers arrested for stabbing man during argument

SAN DIEGO — Two men were arrested Thursday¬†in the El Cerrito neighborhood in connection to the stabbing of a 41-year-old man.

The assault was reported around 8:10 p.m. in the 5900 block of University Avenue where the victim and 29-year-old Manuel Arreola got into an argument, according to San Diego Police Department Officer Robert Heims.

The victim punched Arreola, who then enlisted the help of his brother, 27-year-old Javier Arreola, to jump the victim, Heims said.

The brothers took the victim to the ground and the younger suspect held the victim down while the older one stabbed the victim twice in the lower abdomen, according to Heims.

The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening stab wounds, Heims said.
