ENCANTO, Calif. – Several children and adults were pepper-sprayed Wednesday evening after a fight broke out between parents at a youth soccer game in Encanto.

The melee involving more than a dozen parents and kids broke out at Encanto Recreation Center on Wunderlin Avenue around 8 p.m.

Witnesses say a woman started to attack a man from the opposite team. The man’s wife then jumped on the woman. Several people were pepper-sprayed during the violence. Two children and an adult were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The brawl had broken up by the time police arrived. Nobody was charged in the incident. Authorities say the woman acted in self-defense.
