SAN DIEGO– A San Diego man suspected of killing a 23-year-old motorist in a car-to-car shooting in Valencia Park four months ago, narrowly missing the victim’s 6-month-old child, was arrested Thursday in Las Vegas.

Aaron Griffin, 28, was taken into custody on South Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas on a warrant issued in connection with the death of San Diego resident Jamar Johnson on the afternoon of May 27, San Diego police Lt. Manny Del Toro said.

Griffin is awaiting extradition to San Diego to face a murder charge, according to the lieutenant.

Officers sent to the intersection of Market Street and Euclid Avenue found Johnson with fatal bullet wounds to his upper body. A car seat in which the infant was riding was struck by the gunfire, but the baby was not injured, Del Toro said.
