Arrest made in hit-and-run that seriously injured Chargers intern, 2 others

SAN DIEGO – The suspected driver in a hit-and-run crash in Pacific Beach that seriously injured three people including a Chargers intern was arrested Tuesday.

Omar Gutierrez, 24, was arrested around 5:20 p.m. at his place of work and booked on three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of destruction of evidence.

During the investigation, detectives learned that the August 5 incident in the 900 block of Garnet Avenue was intentional.

The investigation is still underway.
