SAN DIEGO¬†— A 61-year-old woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Little Italy, police said Friday.

The accident was reported at 8:10 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Date Street and Kettner Boulevard, said San Diego police Officer Robert Heims.

The woman was crossing Date Street when a west-bound Toyota Prius struck her, Heims said. She was transported to the hospital with a broken pelvis, and her injuries were not deemed life-threatening, he said.

The 55-year-old man driving the Prius remained at the scene. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, Heims said.
