Brad Pitt under investigation for child abuse, report says

LOS ANGELES -- Multiple outlets reported Brad Pitt was being investigated for allegedly abusing his children during a private flight last week, however a spokesperson for one of the agencies reportedly looking into the claims said Thursday that they have no open investigation.

TMZ reports that Los Angeles Police and the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services are investigating an incident that took place last Wednesday on a private jet in which Pitt allegedly "got wasted and went wild", screaming and getting physical with the kids. Witnesses say he continued his rants on the tarmac, and tried leaving in one of the fuel trucks.

The incident is what reportedly was the final straw for Jolie to file for the divorce.

After the plane landed, someone who witnessed the situation anonymously reported the incident to the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, which opened an investigation.

“He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children,” a source close to Pitt told TMZ. “It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.”

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department said Thursday they are not currently investigating child abuse accusations against the actor, KTLA reported.

“The abuse child unit with LAPD has no open investigation on Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie,” said Officer Jenny Houser with the Police Department.

The Children and Family Services Department has not confirmed or denied reports of an investigation.
