WARNER SPRINGS, Calif. — A 51-year-old woman was in grave condition and her suspected attacker was arrested for attempted murder in connection with a shooting on the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation in Warner Springs, according to sheriff’s officials.
Deputies responded to a report of a shooting at about 11:45 p.m. Friday at a home in the 1000 block of Camino Ignacio, where they found a woman lying inside the residence with obvious trauma to her upper body, San Diego County Sheriff’s Lt. Kenneth Nelson said.
Paramedics rushed the victim to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido. Homicide detectives detained and later arrested a resident of the home, 57-year- old Sandra Leigh Stoneburner, Nelson said.
Stoneburner was booked into the Las Colinas Women’s Detention Facility in Santee shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder. Her arraignment was scheduled for next week in Vista Superior Court.
The victim’s name was not released.
