SAN DIEGO — A man was stabbed and slashed with a knife during a fight early Monday outside a home in City Heights.

The wounded 47-year-old victim was severely intoxicated when he flagged down police patrolling in the vicinity of Van Dyke Avenue and Landis Street around 1:15 a.m., San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said. He was unable to recall the exact reason for the fight and could not provide police with a detailed description of his attacker.

The man was taken to be treated for three stab wounds and a slash to his ear. Delimitros said his wounds are not considered life-threatening.
