SAN DIEGO — Utility crews are working to repair a ruptured natural gas line in Imperial Beach.

The gas leak was reported around 1: 30 p.m. in the 500 block of Elm Avenue.

The leak of vapors caused no reported injuries but prompted administrators at nearby Mar Vista High School to end classes for the day earlier than usual.

The gas leak was expected to take about three hours to repair. The leak was caused by construction workers in the area working on a project near the high school.

People were asked to avoid Elm Avenue to Donax Avenue and nearby Fourth Street.
