Mesa College police nab escaped parolee
SAN DIEGO – A handcuffed domestic violence suspect escaped after being taken into custody by campus police near Mesa College Thursday afternoon.
The man, whose name was not immediately available, managed to get away from officers around the 3100 block of Armstrong Street in Kearny Mesa and disappeared into the neighborhood shortly before 2 p.m., according to San Diego police.
Patrol personnel searched the area for the escapee, described as a white man dressed in baggy dark-colored shorts and a gray-blue T-shirt, through the mid-afternoon, SDPD Officer Frank Cali said.
Around 4 p.m. police confirmed the parolee had been found and arrested. The suspect had been originally taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.
