SAN DIEGO -- A busy stretch of Miramar Road will reopen around 8:30 a.m. Friday after a water main break tangled traffic for about 20 hours.
The break also left the bustling commercial district near Marine Corps Air Station Miramar without working faucets and toilets.
The ruptured 12-inch-diameter concrete pipeline began flooding the roadway in the 7000 block of Miramar Road about 1:45 p.m., according to the San Diego Public Utilities Department.
The problem forced lane closures in the heavily traveled area and left four blocks without water service but caused no reported structural flooding.
Water was restored around 5 a.m. Friday, a city spokesman said.
