SAN DIEGO -- A 13-year-old boy was stabbed in the back Tuesday during horseplay near a McDonald's in San Carlos.
The incident was reported at 5:05 p.m. in the area of Lake Murray Boulevard and Lynnhaven Lane, near Mission Trails Regional Park, according to San Diego police.
Sgt. Robert Mora said the weapon that made the 1.5-centimeter puncture wound was not a knife and described it only as "some type of instrument."
The boy was taken to Rady Children's Hospital, where he is expected to make a full recovery.
Police are investigating the incident.
