SANTEE, Calif. -- Flames tore through a home near the interchange of state Routes 52 and 125 late Monday afternoon, causing extensive structural damage but no reported injuries.

The blaze in the 8200 block of Fanita Drive in Santee erupted shortly after 5:30 p.m., according to Heartland Fire & Rescue.

It took crews about a half-hour to subdue the intense flames, a dispatcher said.
