TEMECULA, Calif. – Human remains were found inside a burned structure in an unincorporated area of Temecula on Monday, officials reported.
Firefighters responded to the scene of a suspicious fire around 5 a.m. at a single-story residence in the 41400 block of Cruz Way, and discovered human remains inside, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The building was possibly an assisted living facility licensed to house up to two senior citizens, KABC reported.
Cal Fire arson investigators and sheriff’s homicide detectives were working to determine the cause of the “suspicious” fire.
Investigators had yet to provide any details Monday afternoon regarding the identity of the remains found inside the house.
No other information was immediately released.
