4 arrested in Pacific Beach home invasion robbery

PACIFIC BEACH, Calif. — Four men were arrested Saturday after the home invasion robbery of a woman and her son in a Pacific Beach apartment, according to San Diego police.

Four suspects forced their way into an apartment in the 4500 block of Bond Street shortly after 11 a.m., according to Officer Frank Cali. One of the suspects had a gun and forced a woman and her son to the floor.

The suspects were looking for the woman’s roommate, but he was not there. That’s when they went into the roommate’s room, took several items and fled from the apartment, Cali said.

Police officers searched the area and within an hour, took all four suspects in to custody. The four men who were arrested were identified as 27- year-old James Gonzalez, 55-year-old Douglas Atwater, 58-year-old Gregory Larson and 60-year old John Roach. They were booked into the central detention facility downtown, Cali said.

San Diego Police robbery detectives were investigating. No one was injured in the robbery.
